What does Yahshua mean in Hebrew?

What does Yahshua mean in Hebrew?

The Hebrew Bible uses Yehoshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) for Joshua, which means "Yah is Salvation." Christians, historians, and linguists outside the sacred name movement for the most part reject the term Yahshua (יהשע) in favor of Yeshua (ישוע) as the original pronunciation.

John 5:36 But I have greater witness than [that] of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
5:37 And the Father Himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His shape.
5:38 And ye have not His Word abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, him ye believe not.
5:39 Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have Eternal Life: and they are they which testify of me.
5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have Life.

Hebrews 5:9 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
5:10 Called by God an High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 2:3-11,14-18
[3]How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
[4]God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
[5]For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
[6]But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
[7]Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
[8]Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
[9]But we see Jesus, who was made a LITTLE LOWER than the ANGELS for the suffering of death, CROWNED with GLORY and HONOUR; that he by the grace of God should TASTE DEATH for EVERY MAN.

[10]For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the CAPTAIN of THEIR SALVATION perfect through SUFFERINGS.

[11]For both HE that SANCTIFIETH and THEY who are SANCTIFIED are all OF ONE: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them BRETHREN,
[14]Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also HIMSELF likewise took part of the SAME; that through DEATH he might destroy him that had the POWER of DEATH, that is, the devil;
[15]And deliver them who through FEAR of DEATH were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
[16]For verily HE took NOT on HIM the NATURE of ANGELS; but he took on HIM the SEED of ABRAHAM.
[17]Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a MERCIFUL and FAITHFUL HIGH PRIEST in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
[18]For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

9 Ways Jonah Prefigured Jesus
STEPHEN BEALE

Jonah—the runaway prophet who became depressed when the city where he preached repented and was spared destruction—seems a mostly unlikely figure to prefigure Jesus Christ.

The Old Testament account of Jonah is a familiar one: God calls the prophet to preach against Nineveh, warning the ancient Assyrian city that its wickedness had angered God. Jonah responds immediately:  rather than be the bearer of bad news, he boards a ship for Tarshish, which, as a Phoenician colony on Spain, was just about as far away as could be imagined from Nineveh. But Jonah cannot escape his aura of doom and destruction. A storm hits the boat and Jonah finds himself confronted by angry shipmates wanting to know why he endangered their lives by fleeing from God.

It does not end well for Jonah: his shipmates end up tossing him overboard and he is swallowed by a whale. He repents—who wouldn’t at that point? God remembers Jonah. But the disgraced prophet doesn’t get the glorious rescue from the dire straits that we see for other figures of the Old Testament—one thinks of the angel that appears with Daniel’s three friends in the furnace or the pair of angels that spirited Lot away from Sodom.

Instead, the whale vomits Jonah up on the shore. We can imagine Jonah, soaked and starving, wiping whale vomit off himself as he heads to Nineveh, to preach of its impending annihilation. Incredibly, the entire city repents. Perhaps the foul-smelling Israelite fresh out of the belly of the whale made a more convincing case for the apocalypse than he realized.

God spares Nineveh. But this is no happy ending for Jonah. Apparently distressed that his doomsday prediction went unfulfilled, Jonah becomes suicidal, begging God to kill him. The Old Testament account ends with Jonah in anguish after a worm kills a gourd plant that had been giving him shade—while remaining unmoved over the fate of the Ninevites.

Jonah doesn’t seem to be much of a compelling candidate as an Old Testament type of Christ. But foreshadow Him Jonah does, as an authority no less than even Christ Himself confirms. Here are nine ways:

1. The whale and the descent to hell. In Scripture, the three days Jonah spent in the belly of the whale is seen as foreshadowing Christ’s descent to hell. In the Old Testament, the prophet himself uses the language of hell to describe his misery in his plea to God: From the womb of Sheol I cried for help, and you heard my voice. (Sheol, readers may recall, is the generic Hebrew term for the underworld.) Jesus uses this story in Matthew 12:40 to prophesy His own descent to hell: Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

2. Jonah sacrifices himself. The parallel is even closer than we might at first realize. Both Jonah and Jesus ended up in their respective Sheols by choice. We know that Jesus sacrificed Himself for our sakes, but we may forget that Jonah did the same for his shipmates—perhaps the only truly selfless act he committed. It was Jonah, not the shipmates, who suggested that tossing him overboard would be their salvation (Jonah 1:12).

3. The cross and the ship. If Jonah sacrificed himself, in a small way foreshadowing Christ’s one-time perfect sacrifice, then it only makes sense to see the ship in the Jonah story as parallel with the cross. Indeed, in one of his lectures, St. Augustine implicitly compares the ship of Jonah with the cross: “As, therefore, Jonah passed from the ship to the belly of the whale, so Christ passed from the cross to the sepulcher, or into the abyss of death.” One contemporary Coptic Orthodox commentator also links the two, writing that Jonah fell asleep in the ship just as Christ fell into the ‘sleep’ of death on the cross.

4. The retching whale and the resurrection. Scripture carries through the parallel of Jonah’s and Christ’s sacrifice to completion: just as Christ rose on the third day, so also Jonah was expelled from the belly of the whale three days later. The retching whale may be an aesthetically unsettling prefigurement of the resurrection, but that didn’t stop several Church fathers like St. Augustine and St. Cyril of Jerusalem from making an explicit connection between the two.

5. Forty days in Nineveh. Jonah, we are told in the Old Testament, spent 40 days wandering around Nineveh, warning of the impending doomsday. St. Augustine sees significance in that number. In the City of God, he suggests that the 40 days Jonah spent after his rescue from the belly of the whale correspond to the 40 days Jesus spent preaching after His resurrection from the dead. (In general, 40 is a highly symbolic number in the Bible, often signifying penitence, purification, and punishment. The storm that caused the Genesis flood lasted 40 days. The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years. And Christ wandered in the desert for 40 days.)

6. Preaching to the Gentiles. Most of the prophets we encounter in the Old Testament are sent to convert Israel back to God. Jonah is one of the few sent to Gentiles (the Assyrians of Nineveh). In this, he foreshadows Christ’s own mission to Gentiles, according to Augustine. Also, as with Christ, the preaching to the Gentiles happened after Jonah’s own ‘resurrection,’ as Augustine notes elsewhere. In this context, it’s important to note that Nineveh was not some random city to which Jonah had been sent. At the time of Jonah, Nineveh was on its way to becoming the largest city in the known civilized world, with the city population hitting 100,000 the century after his preaching. It was also the capital of the Assyrian empire, then world’s largest and most powerful. Just like Athens and Rome centuries later, Nineveh would have embodied the Gentile world to Jews like Jonah.

7. Calming of the storm. The circumstances surrounding the storm that hit the ship bound for Tarshish bears striking similarities to the account of the calming of the storm in the gospels (Matthew 8, Luke 8, and Mark 4). In both cases, the protagonist is sleeping during the storm (Jonah in the Old Testament, Jesus in the New). Both protagonists have to be woken as their shipmates plead them to take action to calm the storm. And both end up doing just that, albeit in different ways: Jonah is thrown overboard while Christ rebukes the winds. (St. Cyril of Jerusalem elaborates on the parallels and the important contrasts between the two stories here.)

8. The withering of tradition. But what of the end of the Jonah account—where we see the grumpy prophet mourning the death of a gourd plant? Here too St. Augustine draws parallels with the gospels: “He prefigured the carnal people of Israel. For he also was grieved at the salvation of the Ninevites, that is, at the redemption and deliverance of the Gentiles, from among whom Christ came to call, not righteous men, but sinners to repentance.” As for the shadowing gourd plant, that symbolizes the promises and privileges of the Old Testament which in the New Testament are described as the “shadow of things to come,” St. Augustine writes, citing Colossians 2:17.

9. The godly worm in the gourd. Just when you think the parallels between Jonah and Jesus couldn’t get weirder, they do. “Moreover, in that morning-worm, which by its gnawing tooth made the gourd wither away, Christ Himself is again prefigured, forasmuch as, by the publication of the gospel from His mouth, all those things which flourished among the Israelites for a time, or with a shadowy symbolic meaning in that earlier dispensation, are now deprived of their significance, and have withered away,” Augustine writes.

Augustine goes “all in” on this interpretation, defending it for two more long paragraphs in which he even makes a reference to “Christ the Worm.” The saint cites two other Old Testament texts to support his interpretation, including Isaiah 51:7-8, which contains a prophecy about salvation that compares the enemies of God’s people to wool that will be eaten by a worm. Augustine also cites Psalm 22 which mentions a “worm … despised by the people.” Augustine concludes, “By that Worm, as by a moth, they are being consumed who under the tooth of His gospel are made to wonder daily at the diminution of their numbers, which is caused by desertion from their party. Let us therefore acknowledge this symbol of Christ; and because of the salvation of God, let us bear patiently the reproaches of men.”

Jonah and Jesus
Ultimately the Jonah story illustrates two great truths about salvation history. First, God works with deeply flawed men to achieve His purpose. From Jonah in the Old Testament we pass over to Peter and Paul in the New—one a three-time denier of Christ, the other a former persecutor of Christians. God doesn’t call perfect people; he calls people to perfection.

This lesson points to an even greater truth. Not only is God willing to work with men, he even became one—albeit one without the stain of sin—in an act of cosmic humiliation that is described so poignantly in Philippians 2. The Jonah stories offer us a vivid, perhaps graphic, reminder of just how extraordinary this humiliation was. If the vomiting whale and the gourd-devouring worm scandalize us as events that foreshadow Christ, how much more should be we ‘scandalized’ by the Incarnation itself!

Not all believers are alike—some have full oil lamps and some without… If you have ever wondered about the difference between the virgins with half-full oil lamps and full oil lamps here are some examples: Matthew 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Lukewarm believers (Rev. 3:16)
Full Oil Lamp--Bride of CHRIST (Eph. 5:27)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Never pursued baptism of the RUACH (HOLY SPIRIT) (Matt. 25:3)

Christ replied that when they saw the Fig Tree (Matt. 21:19-21) put forth new shoots, and begin to grow again, they would know that "Summer" (the new age - Sabbath Millennium) was near (Matt. 24:32), after 6 millennia - (6,000 years) of Satan's mis-rule, known as "Winter".
How does this tell us what YEAR the birth would take place?
The Fig Tree that was cursed and withered before the disciples eyes because it brought forth no fruit, unto God, was the Jews. The "Fig Tree" is the symbol of the Jews in Scripture. Jesus cursed the Fig Tree and it withered away, symbolizing what was going to happen to the Jews for rejecting their rightful King.
The Jews were kicked out of Palestine, had no homeland and were persecuted for 2000 years as God's punishment forrejecting, persecuting and murdering their Rightful King and rejecting the New Covenant referred to in Ezekiel 34, culminating in the Holocaust under Adolf Hitler (the Anti-Christ - 666 - who was blessed by the Pope and called "the envoy of God").

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Interested in works—approval of others (Matt. 23:5)
Full Oil Lamp--Understands salvation is a free gift you can’t work for (Eph. 2:8-9)

Full Oil Lamp--Knows G-D holds the future (Rev. 1:8)

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Uncomfortable with the “supernatural” (2 Tim. 3:5)
Full Oil Lamp--Comfortable that GOD IS “supernatural” (Acts 2:17)

Dear friends,
Abba Father has revealed to me that we all have two hands. Each hand we have represents the Royal Law. The first hand is the one where we all must love Abba Father with all our hearts “our spirit being”.
The second hand is the one where we all must love our neighbour as thyself. Who is our neighbour; the one next door, the one on the other side of this planet and every one in between? Therefore, about 7.25 billion all up.
As our hands are joined to our body, so is Abba Fathers Royal Law joined to our spirit man and cannot be separated. If I say I love Abba Father and hate my neighbour(s) for any reason. It is not possible.
TO LOVE Abba Father and MY neighbour(s) IS THE Royal Law OF LOVE, GRACE AND MERCY to all mankind forever. AMEN
THE Royal Law is found ONLY in the TORAH…. Torah comes from the Hebrew word for "law" and refers to the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy—also known as the Pentateuch. The word Torah is used also to refer to the scroll of parchment on which the Pentateuch is written.
He who lives by good DEEDS is a true worshipper of Yahweh

Luke 6:45-49 (KJV)
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Luke 10:30-37 (KJV)  “By loving your brother- neighbour is the key to the ROYAL LAW”

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Thinks we will be here many more years (1 Peter 3:4)
Full Oil Lamp--Knows the signs in the bible line up with the times now (Matt. 24:33-34)
More than ninety-nine percent of all Prophecy, given by The Ruler of The Universe; and approximately two-thirds of the Bible is Prophecy; has already been fulfilled, in exact and minute detail, as can be proved by comparing His Prophecies to world history. Only a blind-fool would therefore choose to believe that the remaining less than one percent will not also be fulfilled, likewise, in exact and minute detail; soon. You really ought to seek The Truth; to survive. "Only the Truth can set you free. . ."

Learn about the True interpretation of Scriptural and other Prophecies and how perfectly the Signs of The End Times fit with the times that we are now living in; find-out who the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse really are;

Before YOU can understand the TRUTH of the Bible Prophecies, which take up 2/3 of it, or anything similarly complex, you have to decide to be TOTALLY objective and analytical about the FACTS presented and not distracted by irrelevant "clap-trap" from organised religions and "holier than thou" theories. The Bible itself warns you NOT to be led by the "blind guides" of Organised Religions and politics (Isaiah 3 v 12-15) (Matt. 23 v 13, 16 & 24).

Like reading "blue-prints" or "electrical circuit-diagrams" there is some learning to be done & fortunately the instruction for this is in the Bible, and, as you might expect, some of it is coded to stop idiots interfering with the meaning. So it is IMPERATIVE to get the BEST translation - the new "King of kings' Bible" by JAH - Authorised by God; or use the previous best - the king James 1611 original, which is the only human-kingly Authorised Version and not modernised Satanically corrupted translations done by successive churches.

Let's take a look at some of the codes to get you started, so you may agree when you look up the chapter and verse, if you care to check it out.

SUN - The Throne of David - (Psalm 89 v 36) - which is the British Throne. The "Stone of Scone" is Jacob's Pillar and Israel's Throne of David.

MOON - Reflects the light of the SUN. The SUN is the British Throne and the "Commonwealth" reflects her light and power (like the moon does to the sun).

STARS of heaven - U.S.A. (50 on their flag, "STAR spangled banner" etc.)

HEAVENS - Political systems (above the mountains).

MOUNTAIN - Government - (Micah 4 v 1).

EARTH - Downtrodden people (oppressed and poor).

EARTH-QUAKE - Great upheaval of the EARTH (as above).

SEA - Restless, moving people who are not as oppressed and are free to move around (Psalm 65 v 6,7).

WATERS - Peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues (languages) (Apocalypse/Revelation 17 v 15).

HORN - kingdom

UNICORN - Unique horn - "One Kingdom, world without end" - God's Kingdom on Earth - soon.

OLIVE - The "House of Israel" - (people not country)

FIG tree - Jews (Matt. 21 v 20), Christ cursing Judaism for ever in verse 19.

DAY - Year in prophecy (Ezekiel 4 v 6) (Revelation 9 v 15).

MONTH - 30 years in prophecy (Rev. 11 v 2,3 - 42 x 30 = 1260).

SEVEN - The number of completeness in Scripture.

Half-Full Oil Lamp--Believes no one knows the day or hour (Luke 12:39)
Full Oil Lamp--Believes THAT BECAUSE no one knows the day or hour THEY NEED TO WATCH! (Matt. 24:42)

And all Yahweh's children said Amen!
Rev. 19:7-9 (KJV)
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God.

This is what the bride said unto the Lamb (bridegroom).

“I want to come and run into your presence, to look into your eyes and see truth, I want to hear your heart beat, I want to feel the warmth of your love. Come, whisper in my ear, my love and tell me your hearts desire. Tell me how much you love me. Come relax under the apple tree and tell me your hearts desire and feel the breeze of the Spirit. Come, hold me my Lover with your mighty hand and wrap your hands around me and let me feel the strength of your power, for you are mighty to save. Come, release the bonds so I can laugh and sing in your presence. Let me dance with all my might before the King.
Invite me, My King, into thy chamber where you are. Let me sing a sweet love song to you; let me worship you with all the strength I have. Come, my Lover and touch my heart with your mighty hand and anoint thy servant with oil of gladness and with the oil of joy.
I love you my King and I want to be with you always. Fill me My King to over flowing with living waters of life and joy everlasting. Come, my King and bless your servant today. For I am your loving bride and I delight in you.

To My Beautiful Bride,

Come, I invite you into the Kings Chamber
Come, My Beloved, look at me, for I AM the KING
Come and look in My Eyes for you shall find love and truth
Come, sit at my feet and feel My love
Come, smell My Fragrance and see My Beauty, for I AM your KING.
For what I have, is yours to give.
Come; receive from My kingdom all the love, joy and peace I have.
For I Am yours and you are mine.
Come, My Sweetheart, lay on My Bosom and hear my heart beat.
Do you not hear the cry of My heart, for it says, GET READY FOR
I AM COMING QUICKLY
My beloved, pick up your gown and sow on the gold and silver
Put on those crowns I have for you and be the bride I have called you to be. For I have much for you.
Hear My Voice and Go Forth and be My Minister, to Minister life and truth.
For there are Many Who Want To Hear, Go Forth and love them as I have loved you. Awaken their hearts and bring salvation for they are in need.
Go now My Son and speak truth in love for that is what I have called you to do.
For I Am the King and I delight in you.

Ps. I have loved from the beginning, before you knew me I knew you, for I am the King. I had my eyes on you from the beginning and I set you apart for my glory. For you are my bride. Have I not been in my Father’s house preparing a place for you!
For I have built a castle on the mountain tops and even today I show you the spender and glory of my Kingdom. Everything I set before your eyes is yours if you love me. Come reign with Me in my Kingdom and be the bride I have called you to be. For I am your king.

Even today, I am calling you, for the marriage supper is almost ready. Will you not be my queen? My princess, for that is what my Father and I planned from the beginning! Come my beloved, fly with me to the mountain tops and I will show you the glory of my rainbow. For it has many colours that represent my character. If you get a spade and start to dig and dig and dig you will strike the POT of GOLD you have been looking for all your life.
The Gospel According to Thomas Ch. 4:9, 7:5 , 8:7, 13:6,7
You see my servant, “I AM” THE POT OF GOLD AND WHEN YOU DISCOVER ME you will also receive LIFE, TRUTH AND RICHES which are beyond your natural understanding. If you search for Me with all your heart, I will reveal myself to you and have fellowship with you, for that is the REASON why I came.
For I am the light of the world and My Father and I are one. You can be one with me too. If you love me and follow Me where I go, you can be there also. Remember, I have loved you from the beginning. Every day I think of you, for my heart burns for you.

Come now, I invite you into the Kings chambers. Will you not dance before your King for He loves you and is delighted in you? Come, for the King desires your presence for He has found you to be perfect in His sight. Even today the king says; Get ready for I come quickly. Prepare you self my bride, my sweetheart for I am about to marry you. My beloved, pick up your gown and sow on the gold and silver. For I am ready. The whole of heaven has stopped and awaiting the glory of my beautiful bride. I can hear a sound, it is a trumpet, it is time, and I am READY.

He that has an ear, let him hear what the Bridegroom says unto the bride. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the bride; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a NEW name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].
FOR I AM YOUR KING AND I DELIGHT IN YOU”

DOES ALLAH KNOW THE MEANING OF THE TITLE "MESSIAH" OR THE "CHRIST"?

Surah 9. At-Tauba
30. And the Jews say:. Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The MESSIAH is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!
31. They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the MESSIAH SON OF MARY, when they were bidden to worship only One God. There is no god save Him. Be He glorified from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!

Surah 19. Maryam
34. Such was JESUS, SON OF MARY: (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt.

NOTE:
1. Jews and Christian never refer to Jesus Christ as "MESSIAH SON OF MARY" or "JESUS SON OF MARY" neither does Qur'an correctly refer to Biblical Jesus as "JESUS CHRIST."

2. Below is the Judaism & Christian definition of CHRIST & MESSIAH:

Messiah
MESSI'AH, a. [Heb. anointed.] Christ, the anointed; the Saviour of the world.

Messiah
Messi'ah. (anointed). This word, (Mashiach), in the Old Testament, answers to the word Christ, (Christos), in the New Testament, and is applicable in its first sense, to any one anointed with the holy oil. The kings of Israel were called anointed, from the mode of their consecration. 1 Samuel 2:10; 1 Samuel 2:35; 1 Samuel 12:3; 1 Samuel 12:5; etc.

This word also refers to the expected Prince of the Chosen People who was to complete God's purposes for them, and to redeem them, and of whose coming, the prophets of the Old Covenant, in all time, spoke. He was the Messiah, The Anointed, that is, consecrated as the King and Prophet by God's appointment.

With those definitions, why does Allah refer to Isa bin Maryam as MESSIAH?

Did Allah think the MESSIAH is a second or middle name?

Is Allah’s ISA also ANOINTED?

Anointed for what mission yet Allah does not refer to him even once as being THE KING OF THE JEWS yet from the Bible references given associates “ANOINTING” with KINGSHIP and SAVIOUR.

Dear Muhammadans, if you can’t prove it, just know you are believing a different Christ. You were already warned 600 years before Muhammad, Joseph Smith et al preached a different Jesus, Isa ibn Maryam.

The Articles of Faith in which one "True in Faith" (a moslem) must believe:-

2 Corinthians 11
3 I am afraid that your minds will be corrupted and that you will abandon your full and pure devotion to Christ---in the same way that Eve was deceived by the snake's clever lies.
4 For you gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you and preaches a DIFFERENT JESUS, not the one we preached; and you accept a spirit and a gospel completely different from the Spirit and the gospel you received from us!

Galatians

1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)
1:2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the communities of Galatia:
1:3 Grace [be] to you and peace from God the Father, and [from] our Lord Christ Jesus,
1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the Will of God and our (adopted) Father:
1:5 To Whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel (christianity):
1:7 Which is not another (because they "call" it christianity); but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the [True] gospel of Christ.
1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you (to be "True to The Covenant" - "Covenanters"), let him be accursed.
1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
1:10 For do I now persuade men, or [does] God [through me]? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet PLEASED men, I should NOT be the servant of Christ.
1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not from man.
1:12 For I neither received it from man, neither was I taught [it], except by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Christ and the Gnostics.

Adapted from "The Tenth Insight" by James Redfield

. . . I watched as one person came into the Earth dimension remembering all of His birth vision.
He knew He was here to bring a new awareness into the world, a new culture based on Love not on emotion. His message was this: The One God is a Holy Spirit, a Divine Energy, Whose existence could be felt and proven experientially. Coming into spiritual awareness means more than rituals and sacrifices and public prayer. It involves a repentance of a deeper kind; a repentance that is an inner psychological shift based on the suspension of the ego's ('Self's') addictions ('Self'-ish wants), and a transcendent "letting go", which would ensure the true fruits of the Spiritual Life.

As this message began to spread, I watched as one of the most influential of all empires, the Roman, embraced and then transformed Christ's Teaching into a new religion, spreading their inaccurate interpretation of His Message throughout much of Europe.

At this point I saw again the appeals of the Gnostics, urging the church to focus more fully on the inner, transformative experience, using Christ's life as an example (Imam) of what each of us should strive to achieve (John 14:6*). I saw the church lapse into the Fear, its leaders sensing a loss of control, building false-doctrine around the powerful hierarchy of the churchmen, who falsely made themselves out to be the mediators or dispensers of the spirit to the populace. Eventually all texts related to Gnosticism were deemed by the clergymen to be blasphemous and excluded from the Bible...

The Gnostics were early followers of "The Way" (Christ) who believed that followers of The One God should not merely revere Christ, but strive to emulate him, in every thought, word and deed. They sought to describe this emulation in philosophical terms, as a method of practice. As the early Roman church formulated its canons, the Gnostics were eventually considered willful heretics, opposed to turning their lives over to God as a matter of faith. To become a true believer, the early church leaders claimed, one had to forego understanding and analysis and be content to live life through divine revelation, adhering to God's Will moment by moment. The churchmen did this in order to sustain their control over the people. They wished to keep His True Teachings and overall plan from the public, so people would be deceived into thinking that they had to go to the churchmen to find God, rather than learning to look within and find the Divine within themselves as Christ's Message to the world had been.

Accusing the church hierarchy of tyranny, the Gnostics argued that their understandings and methods were intended to actually facilitate this act of "letting go to God's Will" that the church was requiring, rather than giving mere lip-service to the idea, as the churchmen were doing.

In the end the Gnostics lost, and were banished from all church functions and texts, their beliefs disappearing underground among the various secret sects and orders. Yet the dilemma was clear. As long as the church held out the vision of a transformative spiritual connection with the Divine, yet persecuted anyone who talked openly about the specifics of the experience - how one might actually attain such an awareness, what it felt like - then the "Kingdom Within" would remain merely an intellectualized concept within church doctrine, rather than reality within each person, and The Truth would be crushed anytime it surfaced. . .

* John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, the Truth, and the Life: NOT one man cometh unto the Father, EXCEPT by me.
